New USGS Water Gauge on the North Branch

Have you noticed a new shiny metal box on the south railing of Kellogg Bridge? The U.S. Geological Survey installed a water gauge at the bridge last fall and the gauge is now fully operational for temperature and water height. USGS is taking field measurements of flow at the site and posting them, when available, to their web site. The Au Sable North Area Branch Foundation is partially funding the expense of the gauge and the field measurements so that we have a better understanding of the river and how external events affect it. Anglers of the Au Sable and Trout Unlimited are also participating in this effort. If you would like to see the data being generated, it is available at: https://wa
